Diamond Tweeters

With the latest upgrade in their popular 800 Series speakers, B&W has put their famous diamond dome tweeters in every speaker in the line.

B&W claims the new 800 Series Diamond, with the diamond tweeters and a host of other changes, offers significantly better performance.

All the info after the jump.

The diamond tweeter has been redesigned featuring a new surround material and a quad-magnet voice coil. Stereo imaging is claimed to be improved, while increasing openness. The woofers now use a dual neodymium magnet motor system, offering better bass response and lower harmonic distortion.

Other cool upgrades include oxygen-free copper speaker terminals and crossover capacitors made with silver, gold, and oil.

There will be seven new models in the range. The 805 Diamond is a bookshelf, the 804 Diamond a small floorstanding speaker. The 803 Diamond is a larger floorstander, with three 7-inch woofers. The 802 Diamond has the recognizable spherical head unit and dual 8-inch woofers. The 800 Diamond flagship model is the latest incarnation of the speakers used in Abby Road Studios.

There are also two center channel speakers, the HTM2 Diamond and HTM4 Diamond. The HTM2 Diamond is for use with the larger speakers in the 800 Series Diamond range, while the HTM4 Diamond is designed to work best with 805 Diamond or 804 Diamond speakers.

The 800 Series Diamond line is made in the UK and will be available in February in Rosenut, Cherrywood, and Piano Black finishes.
