MartinLogan has announced the Ethos, an electrostatic speaker descended from the CLX that the company claims delivers "the highest sonic standards of transparency, precision and efficiency."
All the info after the jump.
The 44-inch tall Ethos features MartinLogan's XStat electrostatic technology that was developed to achieve a distinct 30-degree dispersion pattern.
The steel stator gauge thickness has been reduced to increase the visual transparency of the speaker while keeping the same overall arc to the driver.
In the base is the bass: an 8-inch aluminum cone woofer and 8-inch polypropylene cone passive radiator. These crossover to the panel at 375 Hz. Also in the base cabinet is a 24-bit Vojtko DSP and a 200-watt Class-D amp specifically for the woofers.
Frequency response is a claimed 34 Hz to 23,000 Hz ±3dB.
The Ethos will only be available from MartinLogan's Reserve dealers. For now the finishes available are black ash, dark cherry, and flamed teak.
PRICE:
Ethos: $6,495/pair
