Slide and Hide
If your cramped urban dwelling is forcing you to choose between designated sleeping quarters and a full-on media room, fret no more.
You can have both with Zoom-Room, an electronic version of the Murphy bed.
“When it comes out of the wall everyone says, ‘Wow!’” says company owner Peter Medvin.
“It adds another magic trick to your home theater experience,” Medvin continues.
While Murphy beds hog valuable wall space, the Zoom-Room silently vanishes into the custom-built wall unit.
The 10-inch-deep shelf accommodates nearly all sizes of flat-screen TVs, while drawers and vertical cabinets provide priceless storage.
Zoom-Room is available in six wood veneers and black lacquer.
The basic unit includes the remote and a queen mattress.
Installation, delivery, shelving, lighting, drawers and closet storage are extra.

How thick is that mattress? Is it memory foam? Or is a hard mattress>
FYI, the price has been lowered to $4,450 for a Queen Size Zoom-Room bed with cabinet. Check out the website - www.Zoom-Room.com - there's a link at the top for the "The Standard" cabinets, which are priced at this level.
WoW! I love the idea, I'm glad that I took the extra time to look into it when I googled murphy beds. This is definitely what I would need in a New York City studio apt. The price is a bit high, but the space I would save!....and it looks a lot safer than a murphy bed coming down on you.
How do you watch the TV when you are laying in bed ?

I imagine that you can put your pillow by the "feet" and view from there....duh. i love the idea, especially the customization, but it's definately a luxory item.
What am I missing here? If you have 6' - 7' feet of extra space to hide a bed, why not just make the room bigger and have a dedicated space within the room for your theater? That room looks pretty big to begin with.
You're not thinking three dimensionally. The cabinet is only two feet deep. The bed "rolls" up behind the flat screen. Check the website, they have a cool video.
