Up, up, and out of the way!
Why suffer with just having a flat-panel TV on a low-boy cabinet in your home theater when you can have a flat-panel TV on a low-boy cabinet for the day and a smokin' front projection system in the same space for the evening?
Here at CEDIA, Elite Screens introduced new configurations in its Raptor electric floor-rising screen series. Raptor is a self-standing projection screen that's concealed in a furniture cabinet. Since the screen rises up out of the cabinet without any need for attachments to the wall or ceiling, it's ideal for use in applications such as apartments or other rooms where you can't make holes in the walls.
The new Raptor is now hides the mechanism in a forward-mounted configuration which leaves enough space along the top of the cabinet for up to a 60-inch flat-panel to sit cozily behind the screen as it rises up out of the furniture. Available diagonal screen sizes are: 72-inches, 84-inches or 92-inches with 16:9 and 2.35:1 aspect ratios available.
A motorized cross-rising "scissor" mechanism driven by a tubular motor is used to raise and lower the screen. Variable height settings allow for a wide variety of installation configurations. Each unit includes a wireless trigger sensor for synchronization with a projector's on/off status and IR as well as RF receivers for wireless operation. Each Raptor also includes a ZR800D IR universal learning remote for easy integration of the screen into any home theater system.
