The following shocking statistics could zap your preconceptions about surge protection and spark some interest in Innovolt's new HEM-X1000 rack-mountable Power Manager.

Innovolt says most surge protectors on the market today use TVSS (Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor) technology, but this type of electrical disturbance represents a puny one percent of measured disturbances. The naked unprotectedness of your equipment should now disturb you very deeply.

Innovolt's CVSS (Current & Voltage Surge Suppression) technology is supposed to come to your rescue by protecting your electronic components from the five most common types of disturbances: Voltage Sags (which lead to Current Surges in electronic components); Over Voltages; Brownouts; Power Outages; and Voltage Surges (lightning).

Innovolt's CVSS technology also incorporates a microprocessor that provides predictive modeling so it can anticipate electrical disturbances and take pro-active action. A built-in memory circuit logs the nature and time of the disturbances, and the HEM-X1000 features two front-mounted LCDs that scroll through the event log. The memory can be downloaded by an Innovolt technician to help with troubleshooting. Four-stage noise filtering is also included. The HEm-X1000 accomodates up to eleven devices and includes two input and output RJ45/RJ11 jacks and five coaxial inputs and output jacks for cable and satellite sources.
