“World’s Finest Loudspeakers” Go To Work

At New York City's Arf! Mastering Studios, audio engineer Alan Silverman needs to judge each track at the highest possible level. One of his mastering tools is a pair of Revel Studio2 monitors. With a client base that includes the likes of Keith Richards, Judy Collins, James Carter, Joan Osborne and countless other artists, we can understand the search for perfection.

In late 2009, Silverman replaced his old monitors with Revel Studio2s. "When you're listening to the same record for ten hours a day, it's easy for your ears to get tired and when that happens, you can't miss important details that really affect the quality of the final product," said Silverman. "But with my Revel Studio2s, that doesn't happen. They have a really smooth treble, but it's not dark; the audio is clear, but it's not biting. I can listen to whatever I'm mastering at low or high volumes for long periods of time and still hear everything perfectly."
