Putting a speaker in a rock wasn’t a bad idea. After all, if you’ve spent all weekend (or had someone spend all weekend) making your yard look all spiffy, why ruin it with a pair of Klipschorns crushing your roses? And really, they’re just going to get wet.
StereoStone has made a wheelbarrow full of different speakers that look like rocks. They expanded their line with tree stump subwoofers (sorry, not called StereoStumps), and even planters with built in speakers. To make your sound garden complete, Stereostone has released the Fountain Speaker.
Believe it or not, the Fountain speaker is actually a fully functional fountain, unlike their rock speakers, which are not fully functional rocks. There is a water pump inside to circulate the water, and even waterproof lighting.
Hidden inside is an 8-inch dual-voice coil speaker. You can also get a mono-speaker if so desired. The speaker handles up to 250-watts and has a 91-dB sensitivity.
The MSRP of the Fountain Speaker is $599.95, and will be available in April 2008.
