B&W Panorama Soundbar

Setting the bar high.

B&W is entering the soundbar arena. And, in typical B&W fashion, they’re doing so with real panache. The new Panorama melds high performance with high style.

B&W Panorama Soundbar

This five-in-one soundbar, designed to complement flat-panel TVs of 37 inches or larger, houses nine drivers within its aluminum casework. Recognizing the importance of the center channel in any HT system, B&W has dedicated five of the nine drivers to center-channel duties: two bass woofers, two midrange drivers, and an aluminum dome tweeter that sports B&W’s Nautilus Tube Loaded technology.

The remaining four drivers handle the left, right, and surround duties, and each is located within its own enclosure. The drivers are powered by six Class D amplifiers, with a combined power output of 175 watts.

The Panorama is purely dedicated to audio reproduction. It contains no video inputs or video passthrough ability. The connection panel features two optical and one coaxial digital audio input, plus two stereo analog inputs.

B&W Panorama Closeup

As we’d expect from B&W, the Panorama has a more attractive look than many of the boxy soundbars on the market, with sleek curves and a shiny aluminum panel. It can rest atop your TV stand or be mounted on the wall.

The Panorama’s scheduled release date is Spring 2009.

PRICE:
B&W Panorama Soundbar: $2200
