Dream a big-screen dream.

Paris-based DreamVision is showing off its newest projector, the Dream'E. Its name may be whimsical, but the Dream'E is serious about offering great home theater performance for the affordable price of $5295.

The projector uses three 1920 x 1080 LCOS panels and employs an improved light engine that purportedly serves up 1200 lumens. The company has incorporated Silicon Optix's Reon-VX HQV processing chip to ensure that all signals, from 480i to 1080p, look their very best, and the advanced color management system allows you to independently adjust the primary and secondary colors.

Thanks to the addition of a 2.35:1 theater mode, the Dream'E works with DreamVision's optional WIDE System to display films in the native CinemaScope format. This anamorphic lens kit has no moving parts, using software to automatically switch between 16:9 and CinemaScope formats.

Dream'E with WIDE System lensSetup perks include a 1.5x zoom, as well as 60 percent vertical and 30 percent horizontal lens shift. The connection panel boasts two HDMI 1.3 inputs, as well a component and PC input and an RS-232 port.

For those who like a little style with their substance, French designer Antoine Beon created the Dream'E chassis. The sleekly contoured, gloss-white cabinet is more attractive than many of the boxy numbers we often see at this price. The Dream'E is also available in gloss black, or you can custom order it in a variety of high-gloss colors.

The Dream'E is available now and is distributed in North America through Audio Plus Services.
