The new touchscreen model adds key features.
Logitech is debuting a new top-of-the-line Harmony remote, the Harmony 1100. The new model has a similar tablet-style design as its predecessor, the Harmony 1000, but adds some compelling features – namely, RF functionality and a customizable touchscreen.

The Harmony 1100 abandons the 1000’s two-tone silver-and-black design for a brushed-black aluminum case. It combines important hard buttons with a 3.5-inch, full-color touchscreen that has a QVGA resolution. As I mentioned, the screen is customizable, so you have more flexibility to design a layout that works for you.
The new model can control up to 15 devices; and, thanks to the newly added RF capabilities, you can control said devices through doors or cabinets when you mate the remote with the optional Harmony RF Extender ($100).
Of course, you also get Harmony’s trademark Activities-based control platform and Web-based setup wizard, one of the easiest programming wizards in the industry. The remote uses a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and comes with a slender, matching base station.

The Harmony 1100, which has earned a 2009 CES Best of Innovations Award, will be available in February.
