Everybody's doing it.

Lutron has jumped aboard the iTrain with its new iPhone/iPod Touch control interface. The company has also announced a number of new wireless solutions, including a single-room version of its popular RadioRA system and a completely new wireless system called Maestro.

Lutron iPhone Control Interface

Owners of Lutron’s popular HomeWorks lighting system will now be able to control it directly via their iPhone or iPod Touch. Whether you want to set the mood from within your home or turn off lights while you’re away, the needed interface is right at your fingertips. The application will be available for download free of charge -- yes, you read that right -- via the iTunes App Store this month.

The new RadioRA-SR single-room solution lets you easily add dimmers, switches, vacancy sensors, keypads, scene controllers, lamp sockets, and Sivoia QS roller shades and drapery tracks to one space, like a media room or living room. The products communicate via Lutron’s proprietary RF communication platform, and you can control them via many leading universal remotes and home automation systems. The RadioRA-SR is expected to ship in the first quarter of 2009.

Lutron Maestro Wireless Dimmer

The new Maestro wireless components are designed for the user who wants to customize a smaller whole-house system. Pick and choose from dimmers, switches, lamp dimmers, occupancy sensors, and wireless remote controllers, all of which communicate via Lutron’s one-way RF technology. Prices start at $60, and products will be available in March.
