Blink, and you may have missed a Parasound milestone.

Parasound, a company known for its excellent preamps and amps, quietly showed off its very first surround sound receiver: the HDR77.

The company has yet to put out an official press release on this new product or provide pricing and release information, but we did glean some specs from the promo material at the booth.

The HDR77 is a 7.1-channel receiver offering 140 watts per channel, with simultaneous second-zone power output of 30 watts times two. Highlights include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, 192kHz decoding, five HDMI 1.3a inputs and a single out, 1080p upscaling, auto setup and calibration, independent crossovers for all speakers, and two-way RS-232.

We’ll keep you posted as more details arrive. Our PR rep tells us that will be soon.
