The new avielo brand includes five DLP models.
projectiondesign, the Norway-based manufacturer known for its contributions to the commercial projection realm (and its apparent distaste for capital letters), is making an aggressive push into the home theater market with the new avielo brand. The brand, which will be marketed as a distinct entity from projectiondesign, includes five DLP projectors ranging in price from $6,500 to $65,000.
At CEDIA, the company is demonstrating the two highest-end models. The impressive optix is a single-chip 1080p DLP projector that's intended for a use with a screen that measures up to 180 inches diagonally. It uses dual bulbs and dual color wheels for improved color reproduction and contrast, and six lens options are available. The optix is shipping now.
The top-shelf helios 1080p model, which should be available before year’s end, is the only three-chip model in the avielo line and employs a special glass optical light engine designed to provide the optimum light output for screens sizes up to 300 inches.
