Universal Remote Control shows off its newest high-end controller
URC's latest tablet-style remote, the MX-6000, can provide advanced control of home theater and automation devices around your room, plus it allows you to access and control digital media from a PC, iPod, or other media server.
The system, powered by Autonomoc Controls, can turn any PC into a media server. All of your digital media is assembled in one library that you can access and control using the MX-6000, with metadata displayed on the large, colorful touchscreen. Add URC's new PSX-1 module, and your iPod becomes another A/V server controllable by the remote. The PSX-1 even offers an HD-quality component video output.
The MX-6000 can control devices via Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) or, with the addition of the MSC-400 master system controller or MRF-350/MRF-260 base station, via RF. The touchscreen has a 480 x 272 resolution, and there are hard buttons for commonly used functions like volume, channel, mute, info, and more.
This attractive controller is very thin and weighs less than 15 ounces. It uses a Lithium ion battery and comes with a matching charging cradle. The MX-6000 ships this month.
PRICE:
MX-6000, $1,499
