BG teams with THX for the oddest sub you'll ever see

This odd contraption is actually a subwoofer, one designed by the minds at THX and BG.

Inside each compartment is a pair of matched 4-inch drivers, aiming at their twins in the opposite can. The 48 total drivers add up to a radiating area of two 18-inch drivers. But the coolness doesn’t end there.

Designed to work either in-wall, on-wall, or in-room, the BGX-4850 is not only compact for its potential output, but also vibration free thanks to the number and layout of drivers. The BGX-4850 fits in between a standard 2x4 wall.

The sub is externally powered by the 1100-watt BGA-2104 that has built in DSP.

I had a chance to listen to a prototype of the BGX-4850 at a listening room at THX several months ago, and it sounded great for such a small package. Expect a full review soon.

PRICE: $6,995
