Wireless streaming meets high-end A/V.
In Marantz’s suite, the company is demoing its new IS301 wireless iPod dock connected to the AV8003 pre/pro, which has earned a 2009 Innovations Design and Engineering Award.

The AV8003, which is available now, is a THX Ultra 2–certified, 7.1-channel pre/pro that supports audio and video distribution to two additional zones. It uses Anchor Bay’s Precision Video Scaler to scale sources up to 1080p and offers four HDMI 1.3a inputs and two outputs.
What undoubtedly caught the CEA’s eye is its built-in digital media player and Ethernet port, through which you can stream music, video, and photos from any DLNA-compliant server, PC, or NAS device to the AV8003 and then distribute said content to separate zones.
Other perks include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, Audyssey MultiEQ automatic setup and calibration, HD/XM/Sirius support, balanced 7.1-channel preouts, and balanced stereo audio inputs. Custom installers will appreciate the inclusion of RS-232C, direct IR ins, and DC triggers.

The IS301, meanwhile, is a Bluetooth-capable iPod dock that allows you to wirelessly stream your iPod’s music, photos, and video to your home entertainment system. The stylish transmitter unit consists of small handset that attaches to your iPod and a base station designed for either tabletop or on-wall placement. The handset even includes basic on/off, input, and volume buttons to control your receiver, TV, or other connected device.
The receiver unit is loaded with worthy connections, including component, S-video, and composite outs, stereo analog audio outs, dual CAT-5 ports, an IR flasher input, and an RS-232C port.
The IS301 is scheduled for release this month.
