Thiel zöet Multiroom A/V System

Thiel knows audio…and video. Thiel is demonstrating its IP-based multiroom distribution system, the zöet. When the system first hits the market in April, it will be an audio-only system, but Thiel is now announcing plans to add HDMI video distribution later in 2009. The zöet is truly a plug-and-play system that allows you to distribute signals from the source devices you already own to self-powered, IP-addressable speakers around your house. The SCS4D speakers and SS1D subwoofers connect to the zöet’s dB1 distribution processor via Ethernet. Communication between processor and speakers is two-way in nature, and you can control the zöet in any room just by pointing the supplied remote at the speakers (with the addition of an optional IR accessory). You can also control the system using any Web-enabled handheld device. The system uses a patent-pending algorithm by development partner BICOM to preserve signal synchronization around the house, while Thiel’s SmartSub technology expertly blends the subwoofers and speakers.
Both the HDMI video distribution and wireless transmission upgrades will be available -- for a fee, of course – to anyone who buys the audio-only version of the zöet. The HDMI-equipped processor will feature eight HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs. PRICE: CONTACT: |
