Zoom-Room

Slide and Hide

If your cramped urban dwelling is forcing you to choose between designated sleeping quarters and a full-on media room, fret no more.

You can have both with Zoom-Room, an electronic version of the Murphy bed.

“When it comes out of the wall everyone says, ‘Wow!’” says company owner Peter Medvin.

Time to ditch all your gear... again.

Just when you got a handle on HDMI 1.3, here comes 1.4. While this is sure to elicit a groan from many, 1.4 has a host of new features that are actually very, very cool.

Starting with the ability to send Internet data over HDMI.

I'll let the gravity of that sink in while you click...

Sanus Systems VisionMount Super Slim Low-Profile Wall Mount

A Flatter Flat

When it comes to flat-panel TVs, you can never be too flat and you can never be too close to the wall. So until we are able to paint displays onto the walls in our homes, television and mounting manufacturers alike are working hard to get their products as slim as possible.

Sanus Systems is one of the latest to follow this trend with the launch of its VisionMount Super Slim Low-Profile Wall Mount.

Mitsubishi 2009

New LCDs, New RPTVs

Mitsubishi seems determined to be the last RPTV company standing, as exampled by the announcement of two new RPTV lines.

Interestingly, the words "rear projection" appear nowhere on the press release or website.

All the info after the jump.

JVC's 2009 Press Conference at CES previewed a number of interesting new HDTV designs, including a super-thin LCD prototype that measures a super-skinny 7mm (.28 inch) cabinet depth. While no price or availability was announced, the prototype looked great on perched on a sculptured two-leg chromed pedestal.
