EchoStar and Dish Network have announced the first HD DVR to incorporate SlingMedia’s popular SlingBox technology, which allows you to watch TV and other stored content on your laptop, mobile phone, or other broadband-enabled device. Now, not only can Dish Network customers time-shift to their hearts' content, but they can place-shift, as well.

Is Vivitek’s H6080FD the industry’s first 1080p LED projector? Or is it Delta Electronics’ HT-8000? Both claim the title. Both are on display at the show. Neither has yet to hit the market. Who will win The Prize?

Pioneer Announces Three New Blu-ray Players

Pioneer fully embraces 2.0 spec.

This summer, Pioneer will add three new Blu-ray players to its lineup. Two are Pioneer-branded (BDP-120 and BDP-320), one is an Elite model (BDP-23FD), and all three are Profile 2.0, allowing access to BD-Live Web features.

240 is, like, twice as good as 120

Sony’s big technology push this year on LCDs is 240Hz. Unlike some of the companies doing 240, Sony’s is an actual 240 Hz refresh.

New HDTVs offer advanced performance and advanced connectivity.

Samsung announced a number of new LCD and plasma TV models at its press conference, but the highlight was definitely the new crop of LED-based 1080p LCDs.

Sharp AQUOS Net and LCD+BD

Sharp announced two worthwhile upgrades to its AQUOS Net online portal today at CES, along with a host of LCDs with integrated Blu-ray playback.
