Is Vivitek’s H6080FD the industry’s first 1080p LED projector? Or is it Delta Electronics’ HT-8000? Both claim the title. Both are on display at the show. Neither has yet to hit the market. Who will win The Prize?
The show may be over, but there are still a lot of cool products to highlight – beginning with Sennheiser’s new set of audiophile headphones, the HD 800. These over-the-ear headphones incorporate several new advancements from Sennheiser, including a new type of transducer and a special ear cup design.
After walking the floor of the Las Vegas Convention Center all day yesterday, checking out the speaker demos and gabbing about home entertainment technology, I decided to treat myself to a visit to Gibson’s tent outside the Convention Center to get my first peek at the company’s new Dark Fire Robot Guitar. And I really wish I hadn’t, because now I want one.
Triple Play? It's more like triple pleasure. Given that I’m in the market for some new furniture, I stopped by Bell’O’s booth at CES. I was pleasantly surprised by one of their newest offerings, the Triple Play FP-4858.
JVC's 2009 Press Conference at CES previewed a number of interesting new HDTV designs, including a super-thin LCD prototype that measures a super-skinny 7mm (.28 inch) cabinet depth. While no price or availability was announced, the prototype looked great on perched on a sculptured two-leg chromed pedestal.
New HDTVs offer advanced performance and advanced connectivity.
Samsung announced a number of new LCD and plasma TV models at its press conference, but the highlight was definitely the new crop of LED-based 1080p LCDs.
While most of the hubbub was about the audio and video at the show, there were still a few products that don't fit into those two big categories that caught our eye as well.
From the futuristic to a new guitar hero (no, not that kind), we saw a bunch.
Dueling 1080p LED Projectors? Sort Of.
There can be only one…okay, maybe two.
